Our program broadens the definition of family to include the community charged with guiding our youth toward the best versions of themselves. Boys Hope Girls Hope of Kansas City provides holistic services to foster growth in our scholars and to cultivate their innate resilience.
WAYS TO CONNECT & SERVE
From meal prep to house maintenance, we could not function wholly without the dedication of volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, there are plenty of ways you can get involved at Boys Hope Girls Hope of Kansas City. If you’re interested in any of the following, fill out our volunteer interest form so that we can learn more about you!
MENTOR
Mentors impact our scholars for life. Each scholar is paired with a caring and professional adult who offers guidance, trust, encouragement, and inspiration. Through a one-on-one relationship, mentors assist with life skills development, share experiences and expertise, while modeling positive values.
DRIVE
Our scholars are always on the go, from basketball practice to forensic competitions to play practice! Safely transporting scholars to interactive workshops, enrichment opportunities, and extracurricular activities that are helping them reach their full potential is always needed.
TUTOR
From subject-specific academic tutoring to piano lessons to fitness gurus, we always need tutors to share their special talents with our scholars. Tutors can help oversee daily study sessions or teach a new talent.
PROVIDE A MEAL
Our Dinner Helpers either bring a premade or purchased meal and join our scholars and Residential Counselors for a family-style meal or arrive early to engage with our scholars in helping to prepare a meal (and stay to enjoy it, too!). SIGN UP FOR A MEAL HERE!
MAKE IT FEEL LIKE HOME
Help with household fixups, cosmetic improvements, and various other projects in and out of our Residential Homes.
SPECIAL EVENT VOLUNTEER
Join our enthusiastic group dedicated to continuing our mission through helping at fundraisers, planning events with our scholars, and networking!
COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES FACILITATOR
Bring more culture and integration with the community to our scholars by coordinating activities our scholars could engage in to grow our minds, bodies, and souls while forming relationships within our city!
INTERNSHIP or PRACTICUM
Partner with a scholar or collegian to further their hands-on career knowledge and growth while also enhancing your own business productivity; win, win! Ask us if we have a scholar or collegian who falls within your area of expertise.
